Dodgeball is no longer a quiet elementary school game. It has turned into a competitive adult sport and in fact even drew controversy out of issues of injury and bullying. While its safety value for children might still be questionable, it has some important health benefits for adult players. Here are some of them.

Hand-eye coordination
Dodgers and ball throwers alike are expected to have this form of coordination, such as having to coordinate throws with other players’ current location as well as their anticipated spot once the ball lands.
Agility and balance
Players may be running across the field but it’s beyond running; it’s also about dodging balls. This can enhance one’s agility and help players adjust their bodies at such quick pace. Balance also benefits from the game.
Weight loss
The game objective is not to get hit so as to stay on the floor and keep enjoying the game with the team. There’s an accidental benefit here: staying alive also means burning more calories.
Flexibility
Having to dodge the ball usually entails twisting, turning, bending up and down, and doing lots of jumping around. These acts eventually lead to better flexibility over time, which can also spill out on other daily activities and endeavors in life.

Strength training
It takes strength in one’s shoulders, back, arms, and abs to repeatedly throw large balls to a moderate distance in order to hit the opposing team’s members.
